My mom's mother is the same age as Kit! She was a "tomboy" who liked to wear slacks, hunt for frogs and loved science. Her grandmother was born in 1854 in Norway and emigrated to America when she was a young woman.

My dad was born the same year as Molly. To this day he refuses to eat turnips as a result of his Victory Garden experience during WWII.

Both of my grandmothers are about Molly's age. One slighly older. I know I have more relatives in the AG time line, I just can't think of them right now, lol.

DH's grandmother was a real life "Rosie the Riveter." She was part of the WAMs (Womens Air Mechanics), and operated out of a facility in Connecticut. She helped mount and repair guns on war planes, and she met and married DH's grandfather during her stint there. She still keeps in touch with three other ladies who worked with her.

She's a very unique lady. I just love her.

My husband's family came over to the US from England right about the time that Felicity did. My godmother was born in 1901 and was more in the same straits as Nellie and her family. She was the eldest of three sisters in an Irish family and her mother died when she was eight. She had a kindly aunt who looked after them but they were far from weathty. She became a bookkeeper for B. Altman in New York City in 1919. Married three times, had four children (all of whom pre-deceased her) and worked for a defense contractor making parts for US Navy ships during WWII. She died at 94 years of age and was the most powerful woman that I ever knew.

My husband's grandmother was a wealthy girl and was about three years younger than Samantha. She went to finishing school and was never allowed to speak to, no less play with, the "help". She became a social activist and was very active in women's issues and worked with the founder of one of the more controversial women's rights groups.

My father in law and step mother in law went through the depression and my step mother in law was born in the same year as Kit.

My mom is Molly's age and was just like Molly as a girl. She hates apple butter as a result of the war and rations.

I am so sure I can pin a relative to each year of the dolls but have to run off and pick up the boy from school.

My relatives on mom's side were all rich society Victorians/Edwardians, and my grandmother's life was a lot like Samantha's, though she grew up in the 1920's and 30's (she was born in 1918). She had a coat as a child that looked just like Nellie's, with the fur and everything! Unfortunately, we didn't inherit any of their wealth .

My grandmother was born in 1928. This of course makes her younger than Kit, but still alive. My grandmother was from the South, so she didn't live exactly like Kit.
